Go See 'District 9'

Even though it pays homage to several science ficition movie traits from the past, it's an intriguing idea that drives the story. Although it's predictable from beginning to end, I was impressed that the first-time director carries it all the way to the end. Great sound design, visual fx, and performances. The ending is, well, very Hollywood but what can you do? It's a summer film. It actually gets you thinking though-- about how you feel and who you sympathize on which side you're on when circumstances dramatically change.
